Linen Loose Covers

Loose covers are a an ideal way to recover your lounge or armchair if you want the flexibility to remove the cover and machine wash or dry clean. You can also change the style of the piece or hide some ugly legs. In most cases the cost is lower too.

Here is a process photo of an armchair I recently made a loose cover for. The client and I decided on a washable linen from Warwick fabrics (Plateau Niagara). I helped her choose the right colour to match the setting. There was already a loose cover on this armchair so I replicated the style of the cover as it was very elegant and was perfect to show off the loose linen.

Traditionally you would have the skirt made separately and sewn on, but this style creates less seams to create a minimalist style.

And here it is on location. You can see it is loose but fitted enough so you can see the arch on the lower back of the chair. The flowy bottom of the skirt gives a relaxed feel which is perfect for a beachside living space.
